Winter Wonderland

What is the best thing to do after spending a winter day outside? Drinking hot chocolate, of course! The students did a few writing activities based on hot chocolate. They used the 5 senses to describe hot chocolate, wrote their opinions on hot chocolate, sequenced the steps on how to make hot chocolate and we used data analysis to figure out what everyone likes in their hot chocolate.

To finish off our "Winter Wonderland," unit, we built mini snowmen inside and predicted how long it would take for them to turn from a solid into a liquid. Then, we went outside for the afternoon and built snowmen/snow-forts. After the kids were done they came inside and made hot chocolate! It was a great day!

Snowmen at Night

Yesterday we read the story, "Snowmen at Night," by Caralyn Buehner. We created Snowmen at Night by using white crayon and watercolor paint.

Winter Wonderland

Last week, we finished our winter silhouette paintings. We started off by painting the background then we made winter silhouettes.
