Fall Scavenger Hunt

For the month of October we will be learning all about Autumn. Throughout this thematic unit we will be exploring fall weather, animal adaptations, leaves, the five senses, apples, pumpkins, bats & owls. 

Last week we read a variety of fall books and we observed the fall weather by going on a nature scavenger hunt. We compared living & non-living objects and we completed a leaf report. 

Pumpkin Expressions

In art, we created pumpkin expressions. The grade 1's learned about opposites and completed a pumpkin poem and the grade 2's learned about adjectives for their pumpkin writing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

On Thursday & Friday, the students learned all about Thanksgiving. We read Thanksgiving stories and brainstormed a list of things we are thankful for. In art, we completed a directed drawing of a turkey! 

Hello Fall, Goodbye Summer!

This week the students learned all about opposites. We said goodbye to summer by creating a poem.The students also made a tissue paper leaf with a pattern border. These will be in the display case for the month of October! 

Terry Fox Walk

On Friday, we learned all about Terry Fox. In the afternoon, the entire school gathered and went on a Terry Fox Walk.
