Last week we started our Grinch Unit! First we read the story, then Elements Elephant helped us figure out the elements of the story. After, the students were put into groups to sequence the story.
The next day the students brainstormed how they would make the Grinch grin. Some said they would tell jokes, and others said they would give him ice cream! The grade 1's and 2's wrote sentences while the Kindergartens drew a picture of what they would do.
On Friday, the students worked in groups and compared the characters in the story using a Venn Diagram. Then, they discussed what they thought the main idea of the story was.
