The Three Little Pigs

Last week we have been focused on the fairy tale, "The Three Little Pigs." First we read the classic version by James Marshall. After our critter, "Elements Elephant," helped us fill in a story map. Then our critter, "Spike the Summarizer," helped us summarize the main events in the story. We also read "The Three Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig." We compared the endings of each story.

We then read a fractured version of the story, "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs." Our critter "C.C Cow," helped us compare and contrast the two stories.

From there we learned about telling a story from a different point of view. How does a characters point of view change a story?

To finish our mini unit on "The Three Little Pigs," the students brainstormed what materials they would use to build a house, if they were one of the pigs.
