Matter

For the past few weeks we have been learning about the three types of matter: solids, liquids and gases. 

First, we focused on the properties on a liquid, solid, & gas. 

Then, we compared the properties of a liquid to the properties of a solid using a Venn Diagram. 

Last week we discussed how water can change states. First, we went outside and gathered snow. Then, we timed to see how long it took to turn into a liquid. After, we put the water in a kettle to watch it change into a gas. 

This week, we have been focusing on what makes an object sink and what makes an object float. We did a fun experiment to test out our theory.
