Pizza Party!

Today we had a pizza party! We have been working hard on showing our Emerald Ridge values in the classroom and we filled up our Brownie Point Pan three times! In the morning we made pizza and in the afternoon we watched Inside Out and connected it to our feelings unit.

For the past two weeks we have been focusing on the life cycle of a butterfly, & bee.

Life Cycle of a Chicken

This week we looked at the life cycle of a chicken and compared it to the life cycle of a frog. We read a non-fiction story on chickens and our critter, "Feature Fish," helped us find the glossary, index and table of contents. Questioner Cat, then helped us answer comprehension questions.

Life Cycle of a Frog

This week we continued learning about frogs. Using a non-fiction text we learned the about the attributes of a frog, where frogs live and what frogs can do. We used this learning and put it into paragraphs. 

Happy Mother's Day!

Yesterday, we finished our Mother Day cards! In the morning the grade two's created an acrostic poem and they also created a list of reasons of why their mom is the best!

Life Cycle of a Frog

This week we began our unit on Life Cycles. Throughout this unit we will be learning about frogs, chickens, & insects/bugs. 

This week we watched a BrainPOP video on frogs and their life cycle. After, we created a Venn Diagram and compared/contrasted frogs & toads. 

The next day, we read a Non-Fiction book on Frogs and "Feature Fish,"  from our Critter Cafe helped us find the title, table of contents, index and glossary. After, we created and painted frogs!
