African Safari

Today was Safari day! Everyone dressed up as an African animal, or a safari guide! Some students also wore animal print! 

In the morning we made safari backpacks, safari binoculars and safari journals! 

Then, we played safari bingo! 

In the afternoon we went on a Safari! We got our plane tickets and flew to Africa! When we arrived in Africa we went on a "safari" outside! We saw leopards, lions, hippos, rhinos, gazelles, monkeys, giraffes and zebras! We also found 10 leaves with sight words. 

After, we enjoyed our snack (Animal cracker popcorn crunch!) and watched The Lion King.

African Safari

Today, we wrapped up our Safari unit! When I was in Africa a few years ago...I bought some African folklore stories. The students were very excited to read these stories!  Today, we read all of the folklore stories and created our own myth stories! 

*Just a reminder that Thursday is Safari day for K-2 students!*

On Tuesday, we continued working on our African Safari project posters! 

On Thursday, we finished our posters! 

On Friday, we presented our posters and taught the class about our African animal.
