Terry Fox Walk
On Friday, we learned all about Terry Fox. In the afternoon, the entire school gathered and went on a Terry Fox Walk.
Mini Colour Unit
Throughout the past few weeks we have read:
1. The Crayon Box That Talked
2. The Day The Crayons Quit
3. The Day The Crayons Came Home
Throughout this mini unit we have been focusing on colour words, primary/secondary colours, All About Me, & Feelings.
After reading these stories we discussed how we each have unique qualities that bring us together as a class. We explored the theme of our identity and diversity. We also explored data analysis through graphing our favorite colours. Throughout the month of September each student brought an All About Me Bag and shared their favorite things with the class.

STEM
Last week, we completed our first STEM activity. STEM is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education. STEM education is an integrated interdisciplinary approach to learning that provides hands on relevant learning experiences for students. Our first STEM challenge was to use toothpicks and mini marshmallows to build the tallest tower possible. If you are interested in purchasing a STEM pack please visit Classroom Base Camp on teacherspayteachers.com.
