The grade 1 & 2's have been working hard on their bug/insect research reports. Each group focused on a different insect to research. They had to gather information on what their insect looks like, what their insect eats, where their insect lives and one fun fact!

K/1/2 Goes Buggy!
This week we are finishing our insect unit. Students will be doing an inquiry based research project to learn about an insect of their choice. Today, the students picked an insect and started their research. They have access to non-fiction books, an ipad and computers to find information about their insect. We reviewed our critter, "Feature Fish" and how she can be used when we are reading nonfiction texts. On Friday, they will be presenting their findings to the class and teaching the class about their insect!

K/1/2 Goes Buggy!
On Monday, we reviewed the life cycle of a bee. Then, in groups, the students had to read an article about bees and find 4 interesting facts. After, they had to sort facts from the article into 3 categories: attributes, actions, environment.
Then, we did a bee craft!
On Tuesday, we read a nonfiction story about ladybugs. Then we compared the lifecycle of a ladybug to the life cycle of a butterfly and bee. We also compared a ladybugs body to a butterfly and bees body.
