All About Autumn

For the month of September & October we will be learning all about Autumn. Throughout this thematic unit we will be exploring fall weather, animal adaptations, leaves, the five senses, apples, pumpkins, bats & owls. 

This week we read a variety of fall books and we observed the fall weather by going on a nature scavenger hunt. We compared living & non-living objects and we did a leaf report. We also started a leaf art project...you can look for this project in the display cases next week! 

Animal Posters

To complete our Animal Unit...each student researched an animal of their choice. For this project they had to find specific information about their animal to put on their poster. They used a variety of resources for their research such as books and iPads. 

Animals

Throughout September & October we will be focusing on Fall and Animals in Science. Last week the students worked in pairs where they had to pick an animal and write everything they knew about that animal. This week we will be comparing all of the animals to come up with a list of similarities and differences.
