This week, the students picked a Robert Munsch story and worked in groups to figure out the problem and solution. Then, they wrote about their favorite part in the story. The three books the children chose were, Smelly Socks, Alligator Baby, and Aaron's Hair.
On Tuesday, the students did some writing and a craft based on the story they read.
On Wednesday, the students worked with their groups to retell their Robert Munsch story. Then, they found all the onomatopoeias that were in their story. Aaron's hair didn't have any onomatopoeias, so that group focused on the repetition that was used in the story.
On Friday, we wrapped up our Robert Munsch Author Study! The students wrote about their favorite Robert Munsch story and we also made a graph of our favorite stories. Throughout the unit we also read, Pajama Day, Seeing Red, Playhouse, Love You Forever and Makeup Mess.
